As in it's locking one side before the other or not locking it at all? Maybe the drums are out of adjustment on one side? You could try resetting them by adjusting them both until a slight drag is felt when spinning, then back the adjuster star off 12 clicks. Throw your wheels back on and drop in reverse, back up a bit and hit the brakes several times. That'll let the self adjusters finish the job

They said imbalanced, driver's side does not work aswell .
thanks I'll try that tomorrow and see what happens mate , apart from that it was niggly stuff it failed on the lights didn't go up when the tester wanted them too, worked fine on way home haha, and I was running an illegal license plate , oops forgot about that
I have a bulb out too, but that was it . Another year of motoring coming up

Look in the transmission tunnel, and make sure the cables are both slipped up over the guides. If one or the other drops out of the groove, the E-brakes don't work too well.
Also might pull the drum and look for obvious issues. Parts falling out for example, would be bad. Broken springs, froze up self adjuster, broken adjuster cable, etc.

Thanks guys, just had the drums off, looked alright in there ya know , gave the adjusters a clean and oil up and adjusted so the drums just go on and drag a little. I've done some driving backwards and hardbraking, used the handbrake to stop a few times , all feels real good tbh. Better than before too . Fingers crossed that's it .
