New shoes, wheel cylinders & drums.

Drivers side is doing all the work. I’ve bled and re bled the rear brakes repeatedly, I have a good pedal.

There appears to be a caramel colour in the passenger drum each time I take it off, little to no evidence of brake dust.

ive just finished sanding the shoes, going to give it another go.

no dampness under the wheel cylinder boots.

thoughts?

Yes, I’ve got equal drag on both sides.

 

Maybe a bad wheel cylinder right out of the box?

 

I don’t believe so, brake fluid is not going down, seals on wheel cylinders are dry.


I really hope not, what a pita they are to install.

 

I hear you. I've read about instances where the the bore in a new cylinder was filled with metal shavings that weren't properly flushed out during manufacturing. Unlikely but you never know.
