Drum to disc conversion kit

83 berlinetta, wanting to convert my rear drum brakes to disc brakes because I am about to replace brakes anyway. Someone considered LS1 brakes if I am going to add power later on, which I am. Can anyone point me in the direction for a conversion kit?

Re: Drum to disc conversion kit

the two companies I see mentioned the most regarding thirdgen brake swaps are:
Flynbye Performance
Big Brake Upgrade

I purchased a Gen 5 Camaro SS brake upgrade package for my Trans Am from Big Brake Upgrade. Can't say enough good things about Scott and his products / customer service.
I've never purchased anything from Flynbye.

Re: Drum to disc conversion kit

I did the LS brake swap. I would look at the LE swap for the rears. Might save some cash.

Re: Drum to disc conversion kit

Dont forget to change the Brake Proportioning valve or mod it

I failed the german technical inspection test . they test your brakes on a Testbench ......it failed really hard ...almost no breaking on rear axle ....because Drums need far less pressure in comparsion to disks

new valve was way to expensive (an very rare also) to me an so i simply changed the spring in it

( measured it lenght, wideness and springforce . contacted a Manufacturer in sweden and let dem make me 3 sets of custom springs in different forces . one of them was perfecly right to get correct readings on the Testbench )
3 springs plus shipping had cost me 10 $
