1NCR5 upgrade on a rear drum
i own a 91 firebird 305 tbi, seen a few videos/posts on the 1NCR5 upgrade and would like to know if the mod can be done with rear drums and is pedal feel different?
currently under heavy braking it nose dives with front locking up. after a drive cycle the front is very hot but the rear drum you can touch it (hot as bath water).
im planning on tracking car and want the most brake i can get for my first time on track.

UPDATE- replaced stock spring with 1NCR5 spring. i can say from personal experience vehicle stops more evenly, pedal is 40% more firm. be aware if roads are wet it may lock the rears.
but for spirited driving and more modern brake feel ON DRY ROADS this is the right step in the right direction

Thanks for the update. Just to clarify, you added the spring on a car with rear drums, correct?

My little step-sister wrecked my little step-brother's 84 Z28 w drum brakes once, by stomping on the brakes and yanking the steering wheel at the same time. Spun out and backed his car into the outside wall.
No it wasn't Talladega; it was an ordinary freeway on-ramp in a mid-size SE US city. Just a day in the life.
Be careful what you ask for in case you get it.
