Rear disk
Whats so much better about having disk in the rear and not drums? I've heard from lots of people that the disk are better, so is it true?
errr ...
not really, but...
Lets say your car is like mine was, 13yrs old 120k salty miles
2.73 open rear cheezy cables, cheezy brake lines
Now what are you going todo...
After all the silliness with sorting out a gear swap,
axles bearings posi etc... well might as well do the brakes
and then discs seem like a logical choice...
I started with a fourth gen housing so it was pretty
much a no brainer (except for some part numbers )
I like the way it looks
and theoretically I should experience slightly less
fade during descents
If your rear end is in good shape and the drum setup
is working (not broke) I wouldn't bother

well my rear drums don't work, at all... so i've been trying to decide weather to go with the drums or disk when i change them. car has 94,000 miles and was not taken care of by the last owner.. i plan on redoing the whole brake system, so should i get the rear disk sence the drums are shot anyway?

If you subtact the cost of rebuilding your rear drum brake system, from the cost of converting to rear disc brakes. It makes the rear disc conversion much more attractive.
I am currently converting my 1990 IROCZ to rear disc brakes.
Thanx,ANDYZ28
