first question is what kind of 350 you want to put in the car a stock one or high performance? What kind of exhaust you want to run and you cant use the v6 t5 gotta get a v8 t5.

Re: v6 to v8 conversion help?

305 or 350? you would need a WC-T5 trans if you wanna stay manual, or get a T56 and that would solve your problems if you wanted to do an LTx/LSx swap

gauges would need changing, you would need to stiffen your body/sub frame, and modify your suspension to take on the weight of the new motor

could you swap in a v8 without changing anything else, sure, minor work to get it in and bolted down, but would everything hold up that use to be for the v6 car, im gonna say most likely not

you might have better luck over at the swap board, then if you decide to sell come back here

Re: v6 to v8 conversion help?

thanks guys, you already made my decision for me.
the car has a really good v6 in it now,and the body is perfect.
i think i will just either put the solonoid on and drive like it is,or sell.
the car has been put up as junk,so i have to get it inspected to get the title re-instated but that shouldn't be no trouble if i want to keep it.
if anyone needs a good straight solid v6 car then let me know?
if not,i'll just get me a v8,5 speed and sell this one.
i know the guy who had car...i already have the papers to get the title, just need to get a solonoid on starter.
it keeps jumping out when i try to crank it.
i had it running though, and everything works great.
solonoid just went to bad over the winter i guess.
here is my email if someone thinks they may want it.
it has manual windows,hardtop...door panels are good.
seats are worn, but car has lots of potential.
very soliod running,and driving car.

post an asking price and some pic's if possible, if you really are looking to sell, Hardtop's are great swap cars for higher HP motors

Re: v6 to v8 conversion help?

are the 2.8 v6,5-speed cars usually good on gas?
how about power wise?
are they very strong at all?
i only drove it about 10 miles and parked it but know it
runs really smooth, and sounds ok for a 6.
jd
p.s.pictures tomorrow if i decide for sure.
