1985 Iroc 5-speed, t-top
I recently purchased a 85 iroc to convert to race car but came across a better deal so I am putting this up for sale...
Its a 1985 iroc with original 5-speed and 305 (carb) and has t-tops with 96k miles. Previous owner said new clutch was installed. I drove the car before i bought it and it ran strong. once i got it home i couldnt get it to idle, had to keep on gas until it warms up and then it seems to idle better. I dont know anything about carbs and dont have time to check it out much.
i drive it and just help with the idle and it runs strong other than the idle issue.
car used to be blue but is not is in primer, previous owner primed entire car. there is some small rust damage on the rear fenders, t-tops dont leak (glass and comes with bag). has 91-92 gfx front and sides. and has a 4 in cowl hood. previous owner did a crap job installing it so i'll throw in my 1992 z28 hood with it (doesnt have any mounting hardware though). has a new black carpet that is not installed yet, its sitting trunk. Car has an overhead console and a spare overhead console that you could sell as well.
driver door hinge needs replaced but the door still opens/closes and locks. has no heat/ac, no radio. it has 4 wheel disc brakes as well. drive seat is a crappy racing seat that i'll replace with good cloth seats from my 92z.
attached are a few photos, let me know if any questions.
asking $2000 obo. I'll also consider trades for a nice rolling chassis
thanks

This wouldn't happen to be a "G" car by any chance would it?

Re: 1985 Iroc 5-speed, t-top
"G" Car - easy way to tell.... eight digit of the vin is a "G", which signified it was a 305 HO (L69) carbed engine with factory 5 speed, and 3.73 Gears. Providing the car is a true IROC (which I would have no reason to doubt you) the RPO sheet should match the vin and have B4Z on the sheet. If that is in fact true then the car is some what of a rarity being there were only 2,497 IROC-Z "G" car produced in 85 and only 74 produced in 86 totaling 2571 ever produced. Hope this helps explain it and possibly give you an idea what you may have.

Still for sale. Price drop to $1700 obo.
Probably needs a new carb which i was going to put in soon but would just rather sell for less to save myself some time for other projects.

How are the floor pans and how much rust damage on rear quarters?

Floor pans are in good shape. The passenger rear quarter, right above the wheel, has some rust damage that needs repaired. The previous owner primed right over it and its obvious.
I'll take pics from under the car and any other defects that are visible around the body tomorrow afternoon. Should be posted by the evening, i have a lot of running around tomorrow but will def. take more pics.
Let me know if there are more questions.
