Looking for ThirdGen Camaro in FL
Looking for preferrably an 85-89 V8 camaro but 82-84 would be ok as well just not my first choice. Looking in the $1000.00ish range but anything reasonable would be considered. I know they are out there so let me know what you have.

Re: Looking for ThirdGen Camaro in FL
I hung around on Autotrader for about a month and a half to find mine. Seemed like there were lots in South Florida, but very few here in North Central FL. Hopefully Tampa/St. Pete will have a bigger supply.
Re: Looking for ThirdGen Camaro in FL
It must have been better then, because I have been searching autotrader, craigslist, etc twice a day for over a month now and all I am finding are cars priced way way over their value or complete wrecks. I have gone out to look at 3 so far and all have had major major rust. To the point of needing almost every body panel repaired, floor pans, doors etc and people just completely wasting my time telling me these cars were clean when in fact none of them were even clost to driveable let alone clean.
Do you know any other classifieds other than the common ones that I can keep an eye on?

Where in FL. are you? I know a guy in Fort Myers who I've bought parts from thats got an 86 or 87 Iroc. He's asking 1200 and I know that he drives it from time to time. I've never seen the car but I trust the guy so it must be in some what decent condition. If you are interested I'll find out more about it for you.

I'm in Largo, which is Tampa Bay area. Ft. Myers would not be too bad as long as the car is road wothy to make the drive home. I would like to find out more about it.
Thanks

Ok man I have good news for ya. Its an 85 IROC Z with the tuneport injection vet style motor. He replaced the trans in it because when he got it he thought it wasnt driving right. Turns out it had a stall convertor on it so no big deal there. It has 1992 wheels with new Eagle tires and a grey interior. He's asking 1500 but said he'll probably let it go for a grand. Sounds like this car has potential! Hell, I wish I had the money
Anyways, his name is Joe and he knows his s**t when it comes to Camaros. Give him a call tonight and tell him Patrick sent you. I'll PM you with his number. GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Looking for ThirdGen Camaro in FL
The problem here is that you're in the $1000 ish range. Which isn't to say they can't be had for it, but in south Florida where you can drive them year round, it's just a bit harder to find one that doesn't sell right away. And the ones that are available, and certainly the ones that stick around for more than week, are going to be either total trash or mechanical wrecks. I have found that usually in this area (Treasure Coast area), for around $1000, you get either bad bodies or bad drivelines...I would personally look for the bad driveline and avoid the bad bodies :-p Anyway, there is a guy in Orlando with a Camaro RS TBI car for $800 and it's listed on the classified board here if you want to look at it. It seems pretty straight forward, he's just out of town right now I think last time I inquired about it. Good luck with the search either way.

I have an 87 IROC I bought last year to restore and just don't have the time or means to do so. I live in central FL towards the east coast if you're interested. I really don't want to get rid of it but it's just sitting, wasting away. It's a red T-Top car, auto TPI. Let me know and I can give you all the details you want...thanks.
