Re: WTB - 4cyl Camaro

I picked mine up just this year at about 100,000km, I've had it for 7 months and put 35,000km on it myself, great car, I just need something I can drive in the winter. It's a 1982 Iron duke, Canada and overseas model, apparently not too many of them produced. almost impossible to find a repair manual for, the haynes and the chilton didn't end up covering my carb. just wondering whats your price range?

1982, 2.5l 151 ci , 90 hp off the line, 5000 rpm rev limiter.
beeeeeeeeeeauty.
I think the light"er" engine made the weight distribution about right on, the thing can go around corners about as fast as you desire.

depends on the vehicle really. While the 4cyl cars are getting harder to find, rare doesn't always mean valuable. The 4cyl cars fall under this category I believe, as collectors aren't interested in them and KBB doesn't show any premium for them either. I would venture to say I wouldn't pay more than a comparable 6cyl thirdgen

Re: WTB - 4cyl Camaro

ok i went to the junk yard today, and i never seen an iron duke camaro EVER except this one that was all torn apart (with moss growing out of the cylinders), anyway i went there again today and saw another 3rdgen. so i checked it out and it needs a paintjob. but the interior looked great, so i was thinking about taking some parts out of it until i popped the hood and it just so happend to be an iron duke. COMPLETE. so i talked to the junkyard owner and he said as far as he knows, it runs and drives...and i asked him how much he would take for the complete car and he said $650...i really wish i had the money. but its an 82' and has some surface rust. but a straight body clean bumper covers and everything. just needs a little tlc apperantly.

if your interested, ill go back up there and further examine it and see if it indeed RUNS AND DRIVES. its here in greenfield indiana 46140

i CANT let this car get parted out or CRUSHED!!! so if you cant save this, ill try my best to find someone to save it. i have 5 3rdgens and one is sucking up all my money and time right now lol

Re: WTB - 4cyl Camaro

Man I wish I could, but greenfeild IN is 10+ hours (600 miles) away from me! That's a helluva drive, let alone getting the car all the way back to Delaware. Damn... it's just too far

Hope you can come up with the funds to save this one! Don't let it die!

Re: WTB - 4cyl Camaro

yes. they made 4 cylinder Camaros, and don't let the 4 cylinders fool you. they Still had Plenty of get up and go. My nephew's first car was a 4 cylinder Camaro, and he showed me " well, it's just a 4 cylinder but.......and then he hit the gas and the little sucker took off, and I was like " Whoa, not Bad for a 4 cylinder ". I Have to say that I was Very Immpressed.

sure, it's Not a V8, and probably didn't have the power of a V6, but I'm Betting it Sitll would have hurt some people's feelings if they underestimated it just because it was a 4.

I'd hate to see it crushed too. How far from Chicago is it?

EDIT: Okay, near Indy. Maybe next time you're there get some pics.
