82-84 Z28

Guys, I am looking for something somewhat specific. I'd appreciate any leads on CLEAN 82-84 Z28 cars. I really want White, with a stick. My ideal car would be an 84 HO stick car in white. An 83 would work as well, but is far harder to find. I'd look at an 82 4 speed car just the same, but equally hard to find. Really want the L69, but might do an LG4 if the car is right. No beaters, throw togethers, race cars, Berlinettas, Sport Coupes. Just nice Z28 stick cars. Thanks, Oldtimer.

Re: 82-84 Z28

Are you really going to let Jacob's blue 84 thats been on here slip through your fingers just because of the color? That thing is beautiful!! You won't find one nearly that nice in white. If I were looking for an 84 H.O 5 speed I wouldn't hesitate to buy his. Think about it. If that car had come along when I was looking for my blue IROC i would have forgotten about the IROC and bought it in a heartbeat!

Re: 82-84 Z28

Mike, you are, undoubtedly, correct. Jacob's 84 is exactly what I am looking for, but I'm trying to get a white car like my original 82, if I can. Let me clarify that Jacob's car is beautiful, and the blue is great looking. My 82 was like the car in my avatar, and I really would like to duplicate the color scheme if I could. I spoke to Jacob today, and he is a stand up guy. He has a great car, no doubt. I am also at least 14 hours from Jacob, being as I live on the Louisiana coast. Not necessarily a deal breaker, as I bought Damon 23's 92 back in 12 out of Atlanta. Seemingly, most of the nice cars are in the Central or Northern US. Looks like us Southerners have been especially hard on these cars, as they are few and far between down South. I am probably not going to find a more suitable car than Jacob's, but I at least need to try. On a similar note, I will be at MSR Houston in a few weeks, so I could look at any suitable cars in that area, if they exist!!

Re: 82-84 Z28

I understand completely why you are waiting for that white one. My first camaro was a white 82 Z28 LG4. God that thing was slow but I loved it anyway. I bought my Blue IROC from a guy in Marietta Georgia and had it shipped out here for $1400 so I know what you mean about a car being an added expense when its far away. I hope you find what you're looking for but I also hope that you buy his car because it sounds like you would really take good care of it and I would hate to see someone buy that beautiful car and trash it.

Re: 82-84 Z28

Mike, you and I are on the same page! I am looking for this next car as a keeper, not a flipper. I have had my 87 GN since 93, and that is why I need the car to be something I want to keep. I really hate moving in and out of cars, so I am looking for that one special piece. Might end up moving to blue, you never know!

Re: 82-84 Z28

You couldn't be more correct. I have been flipping cars a lot lately and had zero plans to sell my 87 when I bought it. I really need a 4th spot in the garage. In a way I am happy that there isn't much interest in my car right now as I KNOW I would regret selling it. I think though that I truly have a sickness when it comes to cars. I am 43 years old and I have had no less than 20 cars since i was 16.

Bump! Still looking, and going to pull the trigger soon, I hope! I have a few candidates, but am still looking. Prefer 82-86 Z or Iroc stick cars. Clean cars only. Thanks!

Still looking! Any leads on clean, stick Z28 or IROC cars would be appreciated. Really fond of L69 stick cars, but would look at lg4 or lb9 cars, too.

Re: 82-84 Z28

I still have my 87 LB9 5 Speed for sale. I have a guy that wants it but he hasn't sold his bike yet for the $$$ and I'm about to buy a corvette. I need the spot in the garage.

Re: 82-84 Z28

Mike, that thing is a looker, for sure. You are a LONG way from here, though. Seems impossible that no nice cars are left within 12 hours of here, but that appears to be the case. The red 92 that I bought (and still have) from Damon 23 is still the nicest one I have been able to put my hands on, and it was 10 hours to Atlanta from here. I should have just bought the blue 84 from KY earlier this year, but I am holding out hope for something like the car in my avatar.

Thanks for the leads! Long way from here, though. Haha. I live on the Louisiana coast, and, I guess, I'm a long way from most places!

Re: 82-84 Z28

Lugnut, I have a building full of cars, from trash to treasure. I am being particular, because I am looking for a specific car similar to an 82 I bought new, but sold in 84. I bought Damon’s 92 off of this site, travelled 10 hours one way to Atlanta, and put a pile of greenbacks in his hand. Still have it, and love it. Just not looking for somebody’s **** box project car.

Finding a nice 5 speed Third Gen down south is like finding a needle in a haystack. I'd love to find one affordable. My next car will be a manual.
