Sold in March of 2011 going on 5 years now. I really want it back! Don't remember the name of the guy I sold it to. I just remember him being from a town on the border of Indian or Ohio.
I owned this car in High School. Spent a lot of time working on it and taking it to shows. After awhile owning the car I got a bad case of Corvette fever. The only prescription is buying a Corvette. Even if that means selling my beloved Z28. 2 Corvettes and a 86 Iroc later, nothing can replace the 83 Z28.
I read your story, VERY cool!! Its amazing the condition it was still in after all those years. Its one thing to find it still on the road and not in a salvage yard, but to be in that condition!! So many third gens were drove hard and beat to hell. Thank you for sharing your story. Gives me more hope!
Run a CarFax on the VIN. It will tell you the last registered city/state. Then go from there.
A little sleuthing might get ya close. Good luck!
Which carfax report will tell me the last city and state it is in? 1 car report, 5 report, or do I have to buy the Unlimited report? I just read all the thing a CarFax checks for and it didn't say anything about telling me the city and state it will be in. Just don't want to waste $40 to $55
I bought the 5 for 49 deal. What it will show you regardless of which one you buy, it will show you the listing of the registrations through the years, city and state. but no name.
As of December the car was in Louisville, Kentucky and has been since April of 2011 - looks like the guy you sold it to still owns it. I e-mailed you the report - next step is to post a WANTED ad on Craigslist in Louisville and offer a reward.
If anyone here is in Louisville or close or if there is a LEO here, PM Sid to help out.
This is going to be an interesting story to follow. Read yours PurelyPMD....AWESOME story! This makes me want to track down my old 84 Sport Coupe from 27 years ago! Im looking for It or another one like it. I dont have the Vin, but The good thing I have going for me is I got pulled over in the car quite frequently...lol So its probably on file somewhere!

Thank you again for looking that up for me! The night before you posted this I gave in and bought the CarFax report. lol Oh well, at least I know the city and state now. Wish it was in a smaller town and not a city of a million people or so. The search goes on!

Thanks for following DonW! Try finding out some info on it. Never know what you will find. Didn't think I would find this much info on my car so fast.
I checked out the ky.gov website and went ahead and registered. It clearly states there that you can request owner information from them. I tried to do a screen shot, but this is the best it would let me do....but anyways, i beleive this is how your going to get the individuals name.... Good luck

Have you tried an ad on Letgo.com ? Allot of people are using that app on their phone these days...its kinda trendy right now. Or so my kids tell me
Actually I did check it out a few months ago. Didn't really see much on it in my area. Although I do live in a corn field pretty much. lol I'm sure in a bigger city there's more on it. I'll have to take another look at it.
