I am looking for a very nice, low mileage, all original, unmodified, collector grade 87'-89' (88'-89' preferred) Iroc-Z 305TPI/5-speed manual. T-Tops and A/C are a must.

If T-Tops are a must, scratch '89 and '90 off your list. G92 was hardtop only those years.

1987-1989 Iroc-Z, 305TPI/5-Speed, T-Tops
1987-1989 Iroc-Z, 305TPI/5-Speed, T-Tops

Is it for the slight styling differences (e.g., wheels) or performance? I would have thought the performance difference between a 1987 and 1988 would be very small. While the 1988 has 5 more hp (220 versus 215), the 1987 has 5 more ft-lb of torque (295 versus 290). I was thinking that would almost be a wash.
I guess I'm curious because I bought (over a year ago) a low-mileage 1987 305TPI/5-speed IROC w/ T-tops. I didn't think I was giving up too much performance with that choice.
Good luck on your search, John

JohnFB,
I do like the slight styling differences on the 88-89 Iroc's and I like the serpentine belt setup. I agree performance is pretty much the same. It's really a very minor and picky preference though and I would be very happy with a nice 87'.
Sounds like you found a nice one yourself.

Yes, I was extremely happy to find this 1987. It had everything I was looking for: T-Tops, 305TPI/5-speed, G92
and very low mileage (~3K) :-)
When I get some nice pictures (the car is put away for the winter), I'll post them as others have done.

John, was that car local? I don't remember seeing one with that low miles advertised around here.
PurelyPMD,
well, I wouldn't call it exactly "local", as it was about 700 miles away (in Ohio). At least the distance was drivable. My father and I drove out there one weekend and bought it on the spot. I then had it trucked back to the East Coast.

Want a title? Post!
I have an 1987 Red with Tan interior, (Very minimal but period correct mods). 305, 5 speed. Send me a PM if interested or you can call me 859-898-4095 (my name is Ben). I live just outside of Cincinnati. I looked for this car for 3 years. It s super clean, absolutely no rust anywhere, always garage stored
Ibciroc,
I am in the process of buying a car, so I'm all set for now. Sounds you have a nice car though. Best of luck with selling it.
