"Project i dont give a shift" update

Oh where to start…. Well I blew my tranny last fall (haha kindda where I got my project name), so this spring I decided to pull the motor and tranny and clean up the engine bay and paint it… I had a new battery box welded in along with a plate to cover up all the holes that the AC left when I took it out… here are some pics of the engine bay…

The tranny rebuild consisted of a road racing rebuild kit sold by Dana at pro built. He was the most helpful person I have ever met in the automotive industry. He honestly talked to me about my tranny for an hour one day. I decided to put a 2200 stall in front of my tranny so I’m excited to see how that all works out when every thing is done.

Now the engine dint have a lot done to it, it just got panted black and it got a nice looking dress up kit along with a used but new intake my friend had laying around. I also received my new street avenger 570 carb in the mail to day. The only other thing I plan on doing is hooking it up to a 50 shot of NOS. It also is getting all new accessories: radiator, fan, power steering pump, water pump, alternator, and so on. Now some people wonder y I dint just put in a 350 motor, and thats because I just dint have the money. The way I see it I can always put my intake, dress up kit, headers and carb onto a 350 some other time. Ill put some pics up of it soon, but trust me its not your typical looking engine.

Other then than that all bushing are being replaced with poly(motor mounts were a B!tch)… new sfc have been ordered along with a wonder bar. I also have a front end rebuild kit I need to put in sumtime that I got from spohn. I also plan to get some koni yellow purchased along with some stock iroc springs. Oh and I cant forget that the rear-end is getting 373 gears with a tr2 posi unit… hmm I

OH AND I NEEEED A COWL/ SS/BB HOOD!!!!!!!!
If you have one let me know…

Looks good man. I'm in the process of doing about the same thing. I'm taking the 305 out and redoing the enging bay, spohn k member, a arms and such. Keep us updated.
And you are correct, you won't find anyone better than Dana at Probuilt.

I think it will look better with a nitrous plate under the carb.

Too much Chevy names. I hate chrome. I do however like aluminum.

Plus I have the K&N filter with filter top. You engine still looks nice though.

Get a new thermostat housing, the plugs are messing it all up.
