Finally Started the Air Ride Install
So...about $2500.00 later....the Air Ride Install has finally started. The rear is done....and tomorrow, the front should be done, as long as we are on schedule. So...we should have the car on the ground tomorrow. The most time consuming part will be hiding all of the wiring that is involved. But, the best part about it is that it is a plug and play system. Pictures should be up this week. I'll keep everyone posted

I went with the "Cool Ride" Kit....which I'm VERY pleased with. The front bags should be done tonight. I did roll the rear lip...which helped alot with clearance issues. I think it'll be fiiiiiiine

I thought that you were having this done at some custom shop locally, and were not going to use the ART kit? Why did you go back to ART for this?? Some unknown benifit we don't know about?

His partner....was going to custom make brackets and everything. They ended up splitting the business because he was being a total jerk. So...I had no choice but to you the ART system....which I don't regret at all. Pricey? Yes.....but you get what you pay for.

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
ok, the front and rear suspension parts are in! Still alot of plumbing and wiring. But we did do a test run with his air compressor...so far..so good. You can go here: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...lbumId=1496741
to view some of the pictures. I'll have alot more pictures coming. This is a totally digital system...so there is still alot that has to be done.

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
these were almost more of a "trial" to see if I would like a bigger wheel on the car....and I love it. Probably go with a 19/20 combo for the next set. Especially with the air ride...you can get so many looks out of the stance it's insane

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
here is a short video. We manually shot air into it....then let the air out. We still have all the pluming to do and the wiring. Also, we have to remove the rear bump stops....probably get another inch or so lower in the back..

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
Yeah you need to let the 20" go! I would go with a 19/18 combo if you still want the big look.
Do you know the dia. size of the wheels? So people with a 27" tire can get a idea of the differance.
I would guess to don't drag race at all? I was wondering how the bags would be.

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
alright, the computer is in, it's wired and it's plumbed. It's working perfect. All is left is to hide some air lines..and re-install most of the interior. I would post pictures.....but the pictures look horrible. They were taken in the garage..and it's hard to see much..

Subscribing for pictures!
You really need to get some bigger brakes! Those dinky stockers don't look good behind those 18"s in the front.

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
Subframes are up next...as for brakes I agree....I need to let the bank account build some before I get brakes. It's been so cold here....we haven't be able to make it to the garage yet...hopefully, the temps will break some and we can get it completely done and get some pictures up for you guys.

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
some tease of the rear....we still have to either cut or remove the bump stops completely....depends how the exhaust is going to work out....

I'm glad I rolled the lips a little....because when it's on the ground...the tires probably would have touched a little. Still kind of hard to see it...since it's in such a tight area...

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
Where did you get your set-up?! I’m seriously looking into bagging my 92 and I don’t have a clue where to start buying and what exactly to look for when buying.
Oh and can you take photos of where you mounted your tank and compressor and all that junk?

Re: Finally Started the Air Ride Install
It depends what route you want to go. You can order the Ride Pro E Compressor kit through Jegs for about $1500....then you have to buy the bags.....and the mounts..which is another $700.00 or so. I kind of went over and beyond and bought alot of extra's....that I felt were much needed. I bought 2 manifolds along with regulators so I can adjust how fast and slow it goes up and down...also some more misc parts. I'll have about 3 grand in the air ride....but it's the best of the best...when it comes to the parts. Me and a guy I work with installed it. I've got one bag leaking down some...so we are going to find the leak before I bring the car back home. Here is where I mounted pretty much everything....

and we mounted the compressor on the other side where the rear glove box is located...perfect location
