I bought it a little over a year ago from my the original owner - my older sister. What with the entire history of the car documented from day one and knowing that she almost never took it past 2k rpm I jumped at the chance to buy it.

But, she drove it in the winter twice. The body looks good, but I know of all the little things that need to be corrected (like surface rust in the wheel wells). Since I've picked up a z28 hood and am soon to have blisters, the whole car needs a paintjob.

Anyone have suggestions of manitoba shops to go to?

I got there late, as I had to work.....so I dodn't see any cars race, but I heard about it. Hope that it didn't cause any damage to your engine. Yeah, there is always next time. Hopefully I will be able to see the whole event.

hey whats up. im from winnipeg. i have an 83 firebird originally a v6 car now a 350. actually i would like to sell it if anyone knows someone who would be interested. either as a whole car or i would consider selling the powertrain seperatly and then part out the car. the engine and tranny have less than 10,000kms. the specs are in my sig. the doors are too rusty to fix but the rest of the car isnt too bad. i can get any parts needed to fix it. email me at djwaylett@yahoo.com if you want any info.

327 TPI

Yesterday I won a complete TPI setup off Ebay. I'm so stoked, haven't slept in two days. I got it for $355 US. It is off a 91 GTA. It comes with the ECM, wiring harness, all sensors, intake setup, distributor, 19# injectors, throttle cable, and some other stuff. I have a 68 327 c.i.d engine that I had rebuilt. I was going to use this engine for my 85 Z28, but I sold that car to my brother. I bought a 92 RS in Dec.02. I'm going to swap out the 305 TBI and in it's place put a Speed Density 327 TPI ( Miniram, sooner or later ). I'm getting closer to completing my project. I just need to finish the heads, get my cam, all the fuel needs and get a chip. Once I have all my pieces I will begin the retrofit. Man I'm excited.........

I sent the money for the TPI setup last Monday and it was received last Friday. They sent it on Monday (yesterday) by Fedex. How long would it take to arrive from Kitchener, ON ? I'm pumped. Can't wait for it to arrive....

I used to go to pony all the time. But its almost like an unwritten rule you have to drive a hotrod to even go there. Wierd
Usually Tim's on main is my main hang out.
But on Portage its the Taco Bell parking lot.

Hey i think i know almost all of you.

Hey, whats up guys. 83 S/E i met you lasy year at PoloPark i had the Marroon '89 GTA last year. Rattlesnake knows me from our Msg board. Chrisman2000 was that you with the Red 91 Z , cool i was the the tall white white guy that was talking to you about the car and helped push the car when ya had your unfortunate incident. Funny story another one of my friends with a the identical car as your to the tee had the same problem like a month ago maybe. Im pretty easy to find in Winnipeg I have a pretty minty Black '91 GTA, 350 L98. And my liscence plate is WLDSIDE. Im not hard to find. Most of you know me or have seen me im sure. Im usually hanging around with other fbody guys at the cars shows at B.Bills on Sundays and cruising the strip later at night on Sunday. If any of you wanna meet up, check out our manitoba Fbody msg board @ www.thefbody.com ....Check ya'll later and see ya the strip. PS were having a Fbody car show toward the later part of July. Ill post more about it here later once dates have been finalized.

Hello,

How is everyone? I drive a '91 Z28 Camaro that is brilliant red (burgandy). I would be the one who drives slow and stays out of trouble. Those in Winnipeg may have seen me as my plate says STOLN. I must confess though, 3 or 4 weeks ago I was racing a 95 TA and blew a frost plug for the block heater . She is all fixed and has new blood. I am also extending the invitation to all the Manitoba FBODY guys and gals to check out www.thefbody.com and post from time to time. I am also putting together a enbroidered logo for the FBODY Generations. So all you Canadian members get yours while it is hot. There are posts about it at the site. Nice to see new faces here and hop to see you at the other site.

Hey WinnipegGTA you guys were great. Thanks for the help. Maybe I'll see you guys out tonight. About hanging out at the St. James. I don't think thats going to happen now. First off the place is import territory. I wouldn't be surprised if someones car got keyed there. Secondly security now blocks all the stores. So your going to get kicked out.
Have you guys been to the Tim Hortens on Main street in West Kildonan? They place is pack with everything from third gens to pro streets.
Well drive safe and watch for cops. They now don't need an excuse to pull you over

Now to why i was checking out this thread... I took this from our Fbody Generations board, but for those of you who arent on there i wanted to share it with you guys as well.

"Well for those of you who don't feel like going to Gimli the weekend of the 12th. We going to have a BBQ at Kildonan Park. I've decided to spring for some hot dogs and shiot. I figure 3 packs of hotdogs should cover it. Its free so come and get it. Frankly i find running at Gimli in these over 20 Temps is kinda pointless. Plus i work late friday night, and im not too keen on driving out at 10PM trying to setup camp. So im bringing all the Hot Dogs, and Adam is bringing some pop. Anyone who wants to show up please do so. Ill find out if i can see a good spot in the park where we can all pull over and eat. Raindate will be pending. If anyone wants to bring something it would be mucho appreciated. Coleslaw something....you definetly don't have too though. Anyrate ill post back more later..or Adam will one of us will."

This is a Fbody thing.....So bring em if you got em.

No, I wasnt at Gimli, Ive only been to the strip in Calgary. All I hear are bad things about Gimli, is it true that the track is rough like a ****? What are the people like there? Helpful or???? Thanks.................

The ppl are actually pretty good, ignore the owners ******* son in the pewter brown '01 Mustang though he's an ***. he thinks he owns the place. Ya the track isnt the best. But ppl put down some pretty good times. Hook is pretty good whether its street tire or DRs. It not super professional there, no track time on big boards at the end of the track so you can see your time, they give ya a timeslip though for ya to look over. It also super fricken expensive.. 45bux for as much as you want runs on Test & Tune events. Most places are like 20-25bux. As for a lil street competion. Our car group has a awesome place we go to that we don't get bothered, not to be a ***, but i don't like sharing i publicly. Seriously though you should come out for the BBQ on the 12th come meet some more hardcore 3rdgenners and some of the 4th gen guys too there all cool. We can do a lil competitive driving a lil later if ya want.

Hey all.

I haven't got an F-body, but I stumbled upon this place while trying to get some info on Gov-Lok posi's.

Anyways, I've got a question about Viking raceway. Are they open every weekend to run, or can you only go to the test n' tunes?

I live in manitoba too, but never had my car down the strip. Someday I might head up there and see what she can do, but I've got a few mods to make first.

BTW, I live in a tiny town about 2 hours southeast of Winnipeg, so Gimili is probably close to 3 hours away from me.

Thanks!

Hey, Formula ya your right its the one at the end of Main..thats Kildonan Park. Look for The Fbody cars that what will be there. Look for some GTA's , i got my '91 Banshee style GTA in black. There will be a Marroon 88 Notchback GTA, a couple of IROC's and Zed's, and of course some 4th gen Trans Am and Zeds aswell. Bring the Formula though if you can. As of right now i think we should have lots of hot dogs for everyone. Maybe bringa 2L of coke or whatever....this list is growing pretty good and should be a blast. Oh by the way just to not make it awkward when we all meet up i hate introducing myself with my board name. My name is Cam...im easy to pick out. ill be the only one there who's 6'5 and blonde/brown hair. Ill keep ya posted though....and hey feel free to shoot me an Email or a PM. That goes for anyone on here, if they are looking for info.

Hi all

Another Friendly Manitoban here. I used to come here all the time, but I haven't been around in a while. Anyway, I just found this board. It's nice to see there are some other people from my neck of the woods here. Awesome! I'll have to make a trip into the peg one of these sundays. Cool rides ya'll. Talk to ya later

Hey,

I don't know the guy, but I have seen the car. It's usually parked right around the corner from where I work. Sharp looking car, very clean!

My brother just phoned me to say he saw a silver 3rd gen camaro rollin around town. It has a ram air hood, and he said it looked really good, and sounded even better. I tried to find the guy, but never did catch up with him. Anyone ever seen this car before?

Hmmmmm...I wonder if that's the same guy. In Brandon, everyone knows every guy with every car. This silver Z is definitely new in town, and not from around here. So far, my brother is the only one who's seen it. He said it sounded pretty mean, so I'd love to know what the guy's done to it.

Maybe I'll go for another look see

actually, that car hasnt been around for about 1.5 yrs, it got stolen and totally raped of every single thing on the car. basically just the shell left when autopac found it. It was super sweet too, sounded a lot meaner then it was though. it was basically a stock 70 350 from a vette(arent they all,LOL) with an intake, cam blah blah. It was super nice though

This must be a new board....

Winnipegger with an 82 T/A....in the middle of a restore so the interior is gutted.

I've seen 83 Firebird S/E on the road a few times.
