Kelly Blue Book has this at 5K. So, I am assuming the 24K is the appraised value of this car. To sell it for that much, you'd have to be a collector interested in that model, and the appraisal would have to be included - or at least verified by another party.

That is the problem with selling this car now. Mine is appraised at 12K, but according to kbb, if I got 3 out of it, I should be happy???

The 3rd gens are plagued with too many fuglies around, too many still in circulation, and low collector demand. Whomever buys this one is probably going to lock it up for another 10 years just to recoup their ROI.
