Looking to cut my 85 open
I recently purchased an 85 camaro with the 2.8. The v6 was not my first choice but it's in great shape and it only cost 500$!! I see it as the perfect project car and i have some really original ideas for it. I've already picked up a 305, and a Z28 body kit. I'm now turning myattention to the roof. it's got a factory sunroof, which is cool and all but i need something more. the idea of a T-roof interested me at first but camaros with T roofs are as original as buzz cuts on enlisted men. what to do... Oh what to do... Then the other day i was relaxing on the couch watching tv, and i came across the fast and the furious on cable... then it hit me...When paul walker popped the roof off of that supra "I've never seen a camaro with a Targa top... "My heart is set now, I must have a Targa camaro... all i need now is to cut open the roof and make a replacement roof... Anyways to get to the point I need directions on how to properly brace the frame so that the roof is no longer bearing any weight. If anyone knows where i can find this tutorial that would be great...

there is some info in the body forum. I think one or two people have actually completed this before. It's hard as hell apparently.
Think of a vert, and the bracing in that, it'd be about the same. Most people do a cage though, which kinda defeats the purpose, but whatever.
Where are you located anyway?
