Car stalled out, got some help from a local GTA owner
Car stalled out today in a left hand turning lane (Alternator is fried, drained battery dead)
Anyways after the intial shock and embarrassment I caved in and called a tow truck, waited for about and hour putting my head down while lots of people drove by in their cars. surprisingly lots of people slowed down to comment on the car and to ask what happened (A few middle aged women barking at me cause my Hazards lights didnt work). Most were young kids asking whats under the hood then saying nice ride and zipping off. It was pretty cool because I assumed everyone would be laughing hysterically at this...I mean I had the T-tops off, shades on... the car was dead and blocking off the turning lane...everything...haha looked like I was int he middle of a sunday cruise...and I was.
Anyways this dude pulls up out of nowhere in a white 1991 GTA...and I was blown away because i've only ever seen 1 other GTA in my area in the last year.
So he asks if i need some help pushing the car off the road...and I was like "it's so heavy" and he said hes pushed his around before...so i said "hell yea" and he parked and ran over while a bunch of other dudes out of nowhere ran behind the car and started pushing it across 3 lanes of traffic around a corner and into a gas station lol...before i could thank them they ran off...but the guy with the GTA stayed and diagnosed the car while we waited for a tow truck. He concluded the alternator was toast...because we could start it by jump starting but it wouldn't run for long on its own.
So yeah id like to thank "Dan" in his GTA for stopping and helping me out (Dude if you ever need your car painted just give me a call), it was a pretty interesting experience. I also found out Dan has some GTA parts i need...I had temp insurance for about three days on my car so i could get it aircared and sort problems like this out...

Rule #31 of the Corvette owner's code:
Thou shalt not pass a fellow Corvette owner stranded on the road without offering help.
Glad to know that this rule applies to Third Gens as well!
