Hai all
, as said I am in Quebec but seeing I only speak english it seemed easier for me to post here.
My words have been " For my first car I want a cheap 2nd hand car " and my hubby found me one at 5 am in the morning
.
Now I will introduce myself. My name is Rhiannon and for a living a make hand made boydpanels for older cars. I also do NOT have a license ( 34 years old ) but this all gives me the time to fix my baby
She needs a lot of help and tender love and care for now. The reason I ran over this site was because we had a radio wire issue.
I bought a new radio and it worked like a dream. The old boxes are still in the car and they sound awesome. However ... when we turned on the lights the radio went to cam. ( backup cam ) and that was it. Turn the light of .... radio works fine. After going nuts on this I happen to stumble on someone here who had the same problem. I read it , wrote it down , told the hubby and it was fixed.
Now she has a parking plate on it for the winter and the real job is going to begin.
As you can see in the pics , she needs a lot of work. After cleaning it up and placing some parts back it looked a bit better.
I have found a 2nd top headliner (?) which needs to be glued and all but it is better than none. And yes it has the same color fabric.
Today we went to a scrapyard ( where we come a lot and they thought they had no cars like that but turns out they have 6 of them ) I can replace what I need for about $ 150.
This includes new backseats , a pod , a dash ( unfixed in perfect shape no cracks or anything ) the plastic at the back window holding the headliner , a motor for one of the lights. And hopefully some little things that I think about.
The floors are as far as I can see in good shape.
I have seen complete floors online and decided quickly that A. I don't need complete floors and B. I do that work for a living , it is cheaper for me to make the patch than buy the floor.
While I was looking at the scrap cars I was actually thinking. Well I don't need this but if I place it over there it will be safe for another person to find. If any of you guys read this and your around Granby / Cowansville send me a message and I'll let you know where I found the parts
Anyway after I have babbeld like this. If any of you has any hints or tips that you think might be usefull just let me know. And if you see something in my pics that does not belong with the car .... please tell me so because I want to keep her as standard as possible.

Oh cool, welcome to TGO! You have a nice project there for sure! Since you are handy it will surely help you in saving a lot of money$$$. So you found 6 3rd gen in Grandby!?! Do you remember which year hey had? I am looking for 91-92 camaro and some red interior parts too. It would be awesome to have their contact infos to investigate this further...
I am from Montreal but it wouldn't kill me to drive 45 min. to get there as I am use to travel to US to get some new and used parts a lot! Do you think that your car will be ready for next summer? Except for the interior and paint, does it need an engine, tranny or rear end rebuilt? I do have some new and used parts left if you ever need some give me a shout.

Welcome to TGO! More Quebec 3rd gens on here. Cool!
I have to ask, since it's a Quebec car, how does the underbody look? It's important for these cars that the frame, floors etc. are rust free because these cars are very weak from the factory and benefit greatly from welding in subframe connectors to connect the front and rear parts of the frame.
These cars have lots of potential, and yours isn't that too shabby compared to many i've seen.. Interior looks to be in need of an overhaul, but some cleaning, reupholstering or new seats, and it should be nice.
How is the engine? And pics of that?
