Didn't see a general discussion / introduction thread so I figured I'd do it here.
New to 3rd gens and GM, long time mopar guy who's restoring a 71 Charger currently. Wife wanted a convertible and has always loved Trans AMs. So since I figured it was going to be awhile until my project was done, why not get her something she can enjoy with the kids.
So here's our 91 T/A Convertible. 55,000 Km with no rust original paint, which is what I cared about the most given I'm done with rust repair. Few small dents and stone chips, AC doesn't blow cold, but that's it.
Essentially the "original" owner with a cool back story. Car was the parade car in the 91 Indy in Toronto. Emerson Fittipaldi rode in it. Car was raffled off after the race and the gentleman that won it, traded it in for something more practical. A guy bought it in 92, and kept it in the family eventually handing it down to his daughter, who we eventually bought it off of.
Given how clean the car is, I think we're going to essentially stick to some bolt ons for performance upgrades, but that's about it. Maybe I'll do a series of videos on the dyno after each bolt on to see what they do for my youtube channel.
Yeah, I mean I'd like to add a few more hp... It's hard for me to not do anything.. But I figured whatever I add, Will be a direct bolt on and I'll keep every part. That way it can be put back to stock if needed.
beautiful TA!! put an exhaust on it and call it a day! In my opinion not much else worth it, as far as bolt-ons for power when trying to keep it original.

yeah, I’m thinking headers back to start. Trying to find a set of headers that will use the existing AIR system. Doesn’t look like many make them anymore.

I hear dyno dons are great if you can get your hands on them - I think he offers the air tube setup, but thats just from a glance, I don't have any personal experience with them. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/exha...headers-3.html
