sub and amp questions

i've decided to make the plunge, i just need some info - i was trying to keep this under 300, but i don't know if that will happen - here's what i'd like
all in one amp - 5 channel to run the fronts, rears, and sub
i'll be designing the box myself, i just need to know of a good combination that will work with the amp and work in a sealed box - it doesn't have to be loud, just a thump to make the music sound good - i was thinking 2 10's, but i'm open to suggestions

what is a good entry set up?
Thanks guys

bit of an update if it helps -
I'm running a pioneer 1.5DIN headunit - it has front rear and sub output
my from speakers are boston acoustic 4x6
and rear speakers are pioneer premier 6x9 2-ways

originally i was thinking of a 130$ boss amp, but got the feeling i woudn't be happy with it after reading the message board archives
so i think i've found a descent amp - an MTX thunder 5400x
5channel amp for under 200$ (used) - all reviews i can find for this model seem to be really good

Now i just need to figure out the actual subwoofer part - anyone have some input?
I've heard MTX are ok, but aren't that great in the lower end
then again - some reviews for 20$ subs got 5out of 5 - i'm a bit confused on what would be a good sub for my application...

ok, so i've found a good deal on an amp:
MTX Thunder 5400X 5-Channel 800Watt Amplifier
at 14.4 volts
65X4 into 4ohms
and
150 into sub at 4ohms
or
300 at 2ohms

So what is a good setup to use for the sub area? 2 10's? one larger? what's a good brand/model?

anyone at all?

With 150W into 4-Ohms I'd say go with an RF Punch HE 12" I have 1 of those in my car running off a 100.2 RF Punch amp. It slams. I don't have the box completely sealed because some of the holes in the box are stripped so like 3 screws are like just sittin in there but it hits hard. And I'm sure with 150W it'd sound even better if you have the right box. You can get those subs for less than $130 new.

I would run a single Alpine 12" or a Lightning Audio 12". Either one would give you great sound. and YES, that is a good amp, especially for what you paid.
