Making Door Pods... Ya might wanna check this out!
I'm not at all experiences with fiberglass... neither is my dad... so I was looking around earlier and it's an article on how to make door pods for speakers. I thought about this... ok my dad's Kia has tweeters in the windows sail thingies towards the front and a 6½ speaker in the door... And the more I think about it I wanna keep my component set up front but do not wanna keep the kicks cuz I want my tweeter up higher and I don't want that thing rattling.

i'm not really sure what your ultimate goal is but i would try to discourage you from putting speakers in your door if you are trying to reproduce true sound quality. the kick panels are the way to go if you were gonna use fiberglass anyway use it on the kicks you could fit the tweeter there or mount the tweeter in the 4x6 location. i'll atatch this pic of mine i don't use tweeters because that thing under my dash is a compresioin driven horn that dose all my high end. but before i got them i had it like i have explained.if you decide to go with custom kicks i could provide you with a few pics of mine being built.
You want to keep your tweets close to your mids for better staging and imaging, you can build custom kick panels or buy Q-Forms, I'm selling a set for $120 brand new. You know you could even by a set and use them as a mold and start producing them for you and your friends. I agree about avoiding doors.

the only thing i'm using for my door is the 6 1/2" midbass from my 3-way comp set. like everyone else said, put everything in the kicks. i just dont have the room for a 1", 4", and 6 1/2" in each kick, but i'll manage somehow
yes kickpods are better.
no for those with big legs not always, unless you pick up a set from DJsexay,
anyways.
im going to pick up sexy (hehe) kickpods for what i have in my doors, then fiberglas some 8's or 6.5s into doors as drivers...
ill let updates in a bit..........

What if I kind of angle the tweeter and mid up instead of just having them straight up and down? I've got it designed how I want it. It's just whether I do it or not. The tweeter and mid would be close though. And fire... how does urs sound with those speaker pods?
the problem with door locations isn't so much the angle, but the un equal distance of the speakers.
No matter the angle, the drivers side speaker is alot closer then the passenger side. So your image will pull to the right.
With kicks, you put both speakers as far as possible from you. Yeah, the driver side is still closer to you, but not by as big a margin.
I recommend anyone even considering flimsy plastic q-forms to consider my designs. I'll be taking more orders in May.

Even though he doesn't like the Q-Forms I'm selling, he's right about the reason for using kick panels, I looked at his pics and I'm not sure of were the tweets mount I think on the front side facing up, if so they should work fine. If someone wanted they could buy a set of Q's then use them for molds to build fiberglass forms that fit and look great, with good imaging. No problem promoting a product, but why bash someone else.

Those wouldnt work with my car cause when it rains or the top is wet if I crack my window the slightest bit that water streams down right there the speker is. You know I had to learn that the hard way when I put my check for the rent in that storage holder that sits in the same spot. Showed me what a water marking look like
