I just got my new amp freom e-Bay, it is the older style Rockford 500@2. I hooked it up in the bridged mode, and all it does is surge bass, it doesn't go along with the music at all. Then I hooked it up non-bridged and it works okay, but when I switch tracks on my cd player, or change stations on the radio it buzzes real bad. I e-mailed the guy and he said there is nothing worng with it. Am I doing something worng, or is this amp bad? Or is this just how rockford amps are?

 

Oh, and when I hook it up to the other terminals (the other - and + )in bridged mode, it doesn't work at all. It powers up, but doesn't play anything. Then I checked to see if it was the other parts of my system by hooking it up to a friends system, and it did the same thing.

 

Sounds to me like the amp was at one time overheated, but maybe thats just my thought. I know ive overheated amps in the past and thats what they usually do when I hook them back up. Hopoe this helps

 

Anyone else with any input? I need to know what to tell this guy because he says there is nothing wrong with it and that it is just me.
