I might just get a lot of flack for this advice, but I would use the Optimus amp to power the subs, the MTX should be used for front stage, since it is a much cleaner and better sounding amp. After that, go out and buy a really good amp to power those subs when you can afford it.

 

That is good advice, dont use the optimus on the highs, you will really notice the bad sound quality, but in the subs you wont notice nearly as much.

 

I "would" use the MTX most amplifiers rate their amplifiers in 14.4 volts the Optimus is made by a cheap Taiwan company the MTX is rated at 12.5volts so if you car is running and with 13-14 volts you woill get more power (watts). Using the MTX you will get a louder and stronger bass with it verus the Optimus. To tell you the real truth you won't noticed the sound quality on both amps if you're driving the mids and highs with it.

 

Hey me, do this: Sell the Optimus to your brother (it has 10% THD, really crappy), use the MTX.

 

i have that exact mtx amp and was using it for a few months on my 12" dvc. did a very good job at powering it. ran it at 2 ohm bridged and it never even got warm. nicely built amp and those specs are underrated. dont remember what my birth sheet said, but deffinately underrated by 5-10%. get rid of the optimus and find something on ebay. i got my blue thunder pro 752 for under $100 shipped. may be selling it soon actually.......
