deck blown, now what
deck blown, now what
I screwed up my alpine 7863. The RCA's shorted out really bad (don't ask s&^t happens). Now there is no output from the speaker leads or the RCA outputs. What have your experiences been with having a deck repaired? Should I just say screw it and get a new one or is it worth looking into getting it fixed. I was curious as to if anyone has gone through this and if they got raped when paying for repairs. I love this deck.
get out, **** on your neighbors cat, come back in, chill out. lol.
i wish i could have learned those simple steps, i blew my deck before being able to afford new one, well.
its hard to say.
7863? how old is it? i cant remember alps line too well, but consider how old and if its under warrant, asky and see if theyll repair, if not, ask if they do free quotes, then decide from there.
more than likely time to get a new one.
sorry, (i Just got my new one!)

As I recall, the 7863 is a rather old deck, so you would probably be better off going with a new one. Some added benefits would be most new decks have 4v pre-outs and with the equipment in the rest of your system, you will notice a big difference in both SQ and output. Before you install that new deck, be sure to track down the problem that fried the old one.
