can i drill into the rear hump behind the seats??
I want to mount my amp in that hump behind the rear seats, how far is it safe to screw into? and should i just use sheet metal screws??

I third. Stay far away from that area with anything that resembles a screw. Even if you don't drill right into the tank, having a pile of screws pointed at your gas tank won't cause good things to happen in an accident.

One thing that wasn't previously mentioned was that no matter where you put the amp, you never want to use sheet metal screws to secure the amp to the car. The metal screws can act as another ground path. The best thing to do is screw the amp into a wood board and screw down the board to the car.
whoa. thanks guys. i had seen other people mount they're amps there and i had guessed that they just screwed them down. but i guess they used velco or mounted them to wood or something.. thanks alot!!

I had my amp rack there. I had the amps screwed to a carpeted piece of wood, then i used the holes where the t-top bag clips were mounted. I used the same screws so as to not go further in than they originally were. Held in place fine. I think i've got a pic somewhere too....
