Head Unit/Amp suggestions
Head Unit/Amp suggestions
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding Eclipse headunits? I am looking to upgrade my Chevy Tahoe audio and would like some input prior to dishing out the money. I have listened to a couple of Eclipses and they sounded really good. However, I noticed that they were listed with lower output ratings than other HUs in the same price range (Alpine, Sony, etc.).
Also, I am looking to install 2-12" subs run off of a RF 800.2 amp and would like some suggestions about where the wires should be run. I have 4-ga power/ground wire and the battery is located on the passenger side of the vehicle. There is a point that could be used on the driver side (fuse relay box near the computer) as well as far as supplying juice to the amp. Any suggestions as to which would be better?
Thanks

the general reason they have lower output ratings is Eclipse figures anyone who buys any of their headunits is going top quality and they are going to use them with a completely amped system, which is evidenced by the 5 volt amp preouts. Eclipse equipment is awesome though, if i didnt like my head unit so much id buy one of theirs.
I like most of Eclipse's stuff, but I wasn't too impressed with my friend's Eclipse HU. It sounded great, but it skipped ALL the time. It was only a year old, but he eventually got rid of it because of the skipping problem.
