Boxes and Amps....
Boxes and Amps....
I know this has probobly been beaten to death.... but. I'm in the process of picking out a good sub box, and also getting an amp. I need to know a decent box that I can buy that would also be a reasonable price. I also would like to know what kind of an amp should I use to power 2 Rockford Fosgate 12" subs, and if I'll need an amp to power my 6x9's and 4x6's (They sound decent now, but they can't go up to high without distorting). I was interested in that QLogic box.... but how much do those go for now-adays? Any input would be excellent!
I'm not looking for a competition system... just somthing that'll kick my ***, and I'd like to lay the foundation for it while I have my interior out of the vehicle.
Oh yeah, and is there anyplace aside from E-Bay to get the RAAMAT? And how much of it or Dynamat Xtreme will I need to get a decent sound barrier?
I appreciate anyone that takes time to help me out here, as I know this gets repetative.
Thanks in advance!

I bought a box from www.ryjocustoms.com or it might be www.ryjo.com. I would go with Jim here on the site if I were you and didn't want to build one yourself. I'm still kicking myself because the slant in the ryjo box doesn't match up with any of my amp rack ideas. That's why I haven't posted any pics. The Q logic box is too much money in my opinion and it doesn't give you the enclosure space that one of Jim's would .
For an amp keep in mind what you have in mind for the future of your system. Right now a good 4 channel amp might be the way to go. You could use channels one and two for your 4x6's and bridge 3 and 4 to your subs. Run the 6x9's off the deck power. Then in the future you could but a dedicated sub amp and put channels 3 and 4 to something else. I hate amping rear fill. Takes away from imaging. Probably an amp that would do a solid 50 watts x 2 up front and 200 x1 bridged to the subs.

Jim who? I'd like to get some more info so that I can contact him and look into things.... I'd also like to know what a good 4 channel amp would be. Not looking to spend a fortune, not looking for a competition amp or anything, so, if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears

He is on the boards as Jim85Iroc. He has a link to his site in his sig. As far as a good 4 channel amp without spending a fortune I'm not really sure what you consider a fortune. I would say you are looking at at least 300 for a good 4 channel amp from a audio shop. That is much less than I paid for what I have. My brother was looking at some of the Alpine amp in their MRP line. It's Alpine's lower line but I have no personal experience. Hopefully someone can give you some good suggestions. I like anything from a reputable company like alpine, orion, kicker, rockford, etc..S

REZN8R is making boxes for dirt cheap right now and he makes a really good box. Send him a message and tell him that 89BlackGTA sent you. You wont find a better box for less. It should be under $80.
