Question

I am COMPLETLY new to Car audio and can't say that i know a whole lot, but i knew a little. I bought 2 Xplod XS-L1246 in a sealed box for 280 today. First off was it a good Deal? or did i get ripped? Next, i need an amp, and kind went on a budget quick after money ran short on personal problems..

How is my box wired? there are the two wires coming off of each sub, then the the -'s come together, and the + come together, for one outlet in the back, and it says 2 Ohms.

The lower the Ohms the harder the hits?

And Lastly

http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=lanvibe250

would this power my subs good?

The speakers are 1200W Max, and 50-400RMS

Thxs guys for the newb questions...

I'm not a pro at this, but from my experience, the Lanzar Vibe series is awesome. My guy has four or so of them at the moment. I had a 600 and a 300 Watt hooked up in my camaro and the bass was awesome! It should push the speakers just fine but someone else may be able to tell you for sure. I found two XS-L1246 for $140 total at this place that sells subs cheap and the box shouldn't have been more than a hundred, but then again, maybe it's a special box with magical powers.

I don't have personal experience w/ Lanzar, but it seems a good match for your subs. Most people I talk to say that Lanzar isn't too bad. I don't like Sony's mobile audio at all. As far as how your subs are wired, they are wired in parallel, with presents lower electrical resistance, ergo more current, ergo more power to the subs. Personally, I would check a reputable pawn shop for an amp, as well. There are a lot of military guys here who pawn their stuff, and good components can be found for cheap. (Just make sure they test it for you first.) I don't buy boxes from sound shops around here. They build 'em like crap, and charge you an arm and a leg. I don't know how the shops are around where you're at though, but it sucks here LOL. Good luck with your system.

i've heard that Lanzar is a quality amp too, but i've never had first hand experience with them. This amp seems to be amp to handle bridged power with a 2 ohm load, my amp cannot handle that. With 1900Wx1 bridged at 2 ohms your speakers, technically, will be seeing 950W each. As for the sub deal, i'm not a sony car audio guy... i let sony handle my home theatre but that's it. I personally don't like their car line, but you might! So for me, that $280 probably would've been spent somewhere else. But when you make a decision about an amp and hook it all up, let us know how you like it Sony car audio is a 50/50 thing, some people like it, some people don't.
