Would wiring a head unit cause an ignition coil to die?

Hey guys,
I just bought a Sony 850 X head unit (the one w/ the remotes) and I rigged it up real quick to see if it would work, and sure enough it did, but where it gets hazy is when I go to start my car in the morning and the ignition coil is dead. Did messing with the wiring of the car cause a surge in the coil and cause it to die, or is this just coincidental? I find it really weird that this happened while my car is a mess.

coincidental. The HU is on a different circuit than the ignition coil.

Hmm, thanks thats what I thought, was just seein if it had anything to do with it, just incase. Guess I'll just replace the coil and be back on the road.

If you wired it properly then it shouldnt be related. double check the wiring to make sure. what kind of coil was it?

Yeah I just figured it out, the coil was good, the ICM was bad, I swapped in a new one and there u go, problem solved. I guess it was just a coincidence that it died the night I was tinkering w/ my head unit.
