On-Line audio venders
On-Line audio venders
Im looking to purchase an Alpine HU, and was considering doing it on line. My original plan was to get either a 7893 or 7894, but if I do it on line I could get a 7995 for about the same price I could get the 7894 in the store. Anyway, I'd like to know what people's experiences have been with etronics.com and savinglots.com before I go ahead and do it. Actually, I'll probably go with etronics because their prices are just slightly better. Any opinions??? Also, does Alpine support on-line sales with their warranties etc???
Thanks

Alpine will only warranty a product if you buy it from an Authorized dealer. Alpine used to say that there was no Authorized mail order/online dealers, but I think www.crutchfield.com is now the only one.
etronics is great... i ordered 2 Alpine Type-S 10's from them for $151.98... they were $69.99 each and then $12.00 for shipping... but that was a few months ago and i still haven't put them in... i have 2 amps and 2 subs in my closet... anyone heard from FiReBrEtHa?? he was building me a custom sub box and amp rack and carpeting it and all and i was paying him for it... and then... he just quit e-mailing me back... so... still haven't put them in haha

If you do decide to order from somebody online, do your homework. Use places like www.audiosurvey.com to see what other people's opinions of that vendor are. If the place you're looking at isn't listed there, at least type their name into some search engines to see what comes up. There are a LOT of bad businesses out there that have thousands of pissed off customers. Slow shipping, no shipping, junk products, etc. On the other hand, there are plenty out there that give good service and have thousands of happy customers. Just do your homework, and also remember that sometimes paying more at a local place is well worth the additional cost. They help you make a good purchase decision, and they will help you out after the sale. Usually, that sort of help is well worth the expense.
