If you have rear speakers from the factory, they'll be little 4" round ones. 6x9's work quite well in the back.

There are 4 stock all together. There are 2 4X6 in the front under the dash and 2 6X9 in the back. There are many combonations that other people have done like adding kick panels and a pair of 10" subs in the back. But that should cover it.

you cannot fit a 6x9 in the rear of a convertible w/o doing some major cutting. even then, I don't believe the depth of a 6x9 will allow the top frame to clear the sides when the top is in the down position.

In a coupe car, you need to aim the mids and highs at you. But if you dont they just bounce around the car till you pick them up, and by that time the highs (from tweeters) will have died.
In a convertible its priority number one you aim them at the driver or passengers because they wont reflect of anything top down, and they dont reflect well off of a cloth top. So kickpanels are more a less a must if you want good sound and these should cover the mids and highs decently. For the back, I would just get 1 way or 2 way 6 or 7s and either try to mount them facing the front with washers and some creative hammering or just aim them at the passengers. Then for the trunk it just depends if you like loud tight bass or bass that shakes the crap out of everything, like me . Probly a 12 or two would work nicely.
