Carbon Fiber Box

Hey
I'm not really into the whole sub thing, but why not mage a carbon fiber box. It would way less, be stronger, and it's just like laying up fiberglass. Another thing I was thinking about is when you lay you fiberglass or carbon why not make a mock up box out of foam, than cover it in fiberglass, than all ya have to do is pour gass in it to melt the foam out, presto a "carbon" copy of the box.

carbon fiber can conduct electricity. I don't know how much because I've never messed with it to much, but it is also more expensive too.

Who cares? A properly hooked up sub doesn't have any wires that touch the box. Although it is somewhat more expensive, it is also stronger. It is, however, harder to work with. If you want the "look", just make a fiberglass box and cover all the exposed areas that you want with carbon fiber (yes, you can do this...)

Oh, and if you go to www.fbodyaudio.com there is a "fabrication" board that has info on using composites for audio applications.
