Amp and regular speakers

Is it possible to connect an amp to the rear speakers of my Camaro? Will there be a difference in sound quality? I'm planning on getting new speakers and I don't want to get a sub just yet.

Thanks

Are they the original Delco's? If they are they will probably crap out really easily, unless it's a low power amp. I suppose it would really depend on the amp and how much power you're pushing. Cool pic.

It would be possible but there are probably better alternatives. I don't know your current set up but you'd probably be happier upgrading your front speakers with the money and then getting an amp to run them and a sub. It would sound much better than amping the rear speaker.

yipp, thats what i have going on right now. the rca outputs from the head unit run to the amp then from teh amp to the speakers. i have a 380 watt, 4 channel amp going to the rear 2 mb quart 6x9's. they used to run the front 2 4 inch clairions but since i got the pioneer head unit i put the 2 front speakers on that. more wattage for the sub... when i get one, anyone have a good one for sale?

i would not recommend running your FullRange and Subs off the same amp.

Instead, if you plan on replacing your 4x6's, and 6x9's do that and wire them to a nice 200 to 500 watt amp. Then get another amp for your subs.

Also, if you plan on running 2 450 watt subs (just an example..) run atleast a 700 watt amp. 900 would be better.

If they are better quality speakers, then yes they will sound quite a bit better. Don't power them with an external amp if there stock. :nono:
