i was wondering if i should buy an amp or some speakers for up front. would an amp make it less distortion on high bass songs? i have all stock speakers with a pioneer cd player with a 200 watt max and then the speakers are stock. i was considering buying 2 way 240 watt speakers for up front or an amp, i cant afford both right now but i dont know which one to get.

I'd agree to go with speakers first 'cause they'll give you a more noticeable difference right off the bat, but Legacy doesn't make very good speakers. They'll probably be better than your stock speakers, but I'd really suggest listening to them in comparison with some better but still cheap ones.

Go to an audio shop and sample their stuff. The difference between quality entry-level stuff and Legacy/Pyramid/Mobile Audio/Crunch stuff is audible. Not trying to discourage you, just want to help you get the best upgrade you can afford. Good luck
