watt

if i have one soney 12in xplode sub that is 900watts max output what is the most amont of watts i can put into it?

depends on what you want to do with it. If it's for pure spl burps of like 1 1/2sec's probably do alot more. If it's for daily driving, I wouldn't suggest it at all. Best bet if you want to hammer on something, is to buy a more durable sub.

to better answer your question, tell us why you're asking.. are you looking to buy an amp and wondering what wattage to get? otherwise i have no idea what you're trying to do, sorry..

match the RMS rating of the sub to the RMS rating of the amp.. your sub probably has 250-300 watts RMS, but find the exact speaker specs to make sure.
