Hi,
Yes, you can use other brands if you want to, but the auction already include a pair of Hiper Standard Watt Xenon Bulbs, if you want to upgrade to the High Watt instead of Standard Watt, you could. And it's way better this way compared to the factory sealed beam. Whenever the bulb burn out, you have to change the entire sealed beam, but for the sealed beam conversion kit, you only need to change the bulbs inside. Thank you.

Kevin

!!!BUYER BEWARE!!!
Be very carefull with those HID bulbs. If you buy a bulb that has even the slightest increase in watts, it will destroy the wiring in your car. I just bought some HID lights for my girl's VW (for Christmas) and they fried the entire wiring harness. Now I get to spend my week-end installing the new $529.34 harness. No joke! The dealership said that they have repaired over 30 cars this year for the same reason. I bought them form eBay as well, but from a different user...

I've used high wattage bulbs before and have had no problems. I'm not saying that it isn't possible though. I used bulbs in my firebird had had an 80 watt high beam and a 55 watt low beam for years with no problems.

First off, those are not HIDs. They are completely different.
Second, before you buy any bulbs, check this site out:

Are you guys referring to H4 (halogen) bulbs with that conversion?
If so, they are standard equipment for cars that are imported in here (Finland..)
You can get them with any color you want and different wattage 100W !!low beam!!

LUKS has some of the best quality bulbs i've ever seen or owned. I have a full set on my 99 Xtreme, (2 low and 2 high beam) and ive had them on my truck since April of 1999. I have 80W low beam and 100W high beam. I paid $20 each bulb and it was well worth it. Those cheap a$$ pepboys and autozone aftermarket bulbs arent worth a crap for reliability. These arent really blue, like the ricers have, and they light up the road 2 times better than stock, without blinding oncoming traffic.
Let me put in some info on this....since i have this "conversion" on my '87 Trans Am. 90% of all rice shops carry these conversion housings. That's all it is, a housing. It's exactly the same size as the stock sealed beam. As for wiring? non required! These use H4 bulbs which plug directly into the stock sealed beam plugs. It's reallly that simple. For those who are considering this....i do have a few warnings though..
1.) when they say non sealed beam, they mean it!! You should silicone the hell out of them otherwise they will leak.
2.) don't pay more than $50 for them
3.) Don't be a nut like me and put in 115 watt "gold ion" PIAA bulbs......i get high beamed by oncoming traffic all the time!! It's really annoying. I think i've perfected the art of high beaming them back just in time to flip them off while they stare blankly wondering how my lights just got brighter when they thought i had my high beams on.
