questions about blown head unit
i just called the place servicing my head unit at pioneer, he said that i had a blown output P.I.C. or P.O.C something like that... what causes that? i'm asking because at the time i was having problems with my alternator and battery, i replaced both of htem twice and left the head unit in while doing it, it still worked though. then i took out the head unit and sent it in, ever since then my battery and alternator have been doing just fine.
was the head unit causing the problems with the alternator and battery or did the alternator and battery blow the head unit? thanks a hellova lot! i'm trying to make sure that if i put the head unit back in this wont happen again

here what COULD have happened , which ive been known to do before and felt stupid about it. when they "whoever installed the head unit" anyways when they installed it, they hooked the positive wire up to a constant power source instead of a switched power source, thus causing th eradio to feed permanantly off of the batter and kill it. prolly wasnt a need to replace the batt or the altenator nor the head unit, just needed to hook it up right.
or......could have had a faulty volteage regulator in the alt. and it could have been sending out WAY too much current and blew the head unit, but i doubt this was the case due to the fact that im sure your head unit had a inline fuse. my money is still on the constant power source though.
