Punch 200M good enough for 500rms sub???

Punch 200M good enough for 500rms sub???

relative newby to car audio, but i jsut bought a punch 200m on boxing day special, just wandering if it will be powerful enough to power my orion xtr 12 inch. Thanks for any info

It should be just about perfect. That amp pushes 200watts rms @2ohm and probably pushes a bit more than 200. So that sub should thump pretty well. But a more powerful amp will be wanted if you are going to try and shake your town.

I also got an mtx road thunder amp RT2200 rated at 200 watts bridged into 4ohm load. That one was only 100bucks canadian but refurbished, and an alpine mrp-t130. The alpine is only 130W rms bridged into 4ohms so im thinkin that one is out of the question. So its out of the MTX and Rockford. One was 275, one was 100. Any amps out there in the price range that are a better choice, or stick with one of these. Thanks again for the help.

You can get a JBL 600.1 that pushes about 700 watts rms for $195 from ikesound
