Walmart, Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.

They usually all have it. Normally they only carry it in black, gray, red or tan.

HOME DEPOT (or any big hardwere store)

I get black car carpet, it is 6 feet wide, and about $1 a sg. foot.
I went there last month and they said they dont sell it in the winter, only spring/summer/fall. (I live in minnesota)

Use some 3m spray adhesive to hold it down.

MCM Electronics carries a good variety of backed and non-backed carpet and trunk liner in different colors. They are a lot cheaper than someone like selectproducts. They also sell a generic form or dynamat for really cheap in comparison. I love MCM.

Or if you want to be really really cheap, you can do like I did. I built a sub box and never carpeted it, never painted it or anything. Looks like it's still incomplete but I think that adds a style to it... maybe...

No offense but that looks like lazy a$$ style to me. Leave it uncovered until you have everything done that needs to be but don't be lazy. Take some pride and show off your hard work.

i resent that comment. i take pride in all my work and i do things to almost a perfectionist's standard. i choose quality over appearence.

I wasn't making a comment about you. I was commenting on Syphon leaving his box in an unfinished state. Just because someone buys really expensive materials doesn't mean it's a nice box. I am more impressed with people that use what they have or find off brand products and make them look better than the name brand stuff. I just think it looks lazy for someone to have an unfinished box in their car. It's OK for awhile. Who doesn't want to throw the box they just sweated over for hours building into their car and listen to it for a while. But if you build a box and never make it apealing for others to look at, then you have no pride in your work. The only exeption I have to this is SPL cars. It's hard to make some of those look good.

i know you wasnt aiming that toward sme, but im just trying to emphasize that appearence doesnt mean anything, i dont show everyone my stuff its kind alike advertising what people may want to steal. if you have a jammin system thats cool as hell. and you know what? it may be better that they leave it un carpeted cause if they have a hatch leak it would show up better on an uncarpeted box then a carpeted one so they can help fix the problem before they begin to lose money.

I never thought of building a speaker box and not carpeting it so that I could discover and fix a hatch leak. Hmmmm. Oh well.
