Would a box built for 4 subs..

I bought a custom built box for my new Audiobahn AW1206Q's that is supposed to house 4 subs in the trunk but for a little bit is only gonna house 2.. i'll get a pic up as soon as i can or when i figure out how... But instead of the box being in the well, it starts on top of the well (subs facing the hatch) and then has another enclosure for 2 more subs facing the rear actually in the well, in sort of a chair shaped design. My question is will it make a big difference if i dont put 2 more subs in or if i just put another piece of wood over the other 2 subs? I think i may have screwed myself here, im not sure...Help me out

If the whole box is open then you dont want to run it with only two speakers in there. It wont sound good at all, not even close to good. You need to cover them with something with a tight seal. that is the only way. And then it depends on the air space, there might be too much.
