Hey all I need some input on a speaker setup. I am doing a Convertible and this Is what I have for not. US Acoustic 4 channel amp. Infinity Componet 6 1/6 for the back panels. I also have a set of 4x6 Pioneer in the dash.

The question is has anybody been able to place speakers in the doors of our cars. I really don't have the extra money for Kick panels. Got any Ideas. I am running a Kenwook 45X4 Head unit.

I have an aftermarket product installed on my doors. I don't recall who makes it, but it will come out about 3" from the stock door panel. It's pretty slick looking though. I'll take a pic or two and post it this evening. I've got Kenwood 6X9's installed in them.

 

Check out the tech article about stereo installation into our cars, there is a paragraph or two about doing this. I've also been tempeted to try it.

 

I just used a piece of 3/4" mdf and shaped it to match the contour then carpeted it to match. Just have to play around with the placement to avoid the window mechs.

 

nosaint: That is one heck of an Idea. I just may try to do that!!! I like the look and I think the placemet would be perfect for a rag top.
