What mods are needed for 4x6s in a bird

I remember reading if you want to put in aftermarket 4x6's in a firebird you will need to modify the dash or something like that. I was wondering what this mod is. If its cutting a part of the dash pad or something similar.

I had no problems they fit. You need to find small magnets to hold them in place properly. If you don't it will just rattle around a bit, with the magnets it holds it in more.

my front 4x6 polks fit in my 88 formula dash, however, in my 91 dash they wont fit!!!

you need a thinner and shorter bottom, i wouldnt want to cut my dash up..

If it makes a difference I'm going with Infinitys from ikesound.com. Or from etronics

you will have NO problems fitting 4x6s into the firebirtd dash as long ast they are the cone type. You'll only run into problems when you get the component plate 4x6s. Hope this helps.
