Don't ground your radio to the brown wire.

you want to double check your wireharness and make sure that the illumination (orange wire on the stereo harness, or the orange with white dimmer wire) are not hooked up. Sometimes this will cause an overload of the stock circuit and will blow the fuse. Does it do anything else other than blow a fuse for the dash lights? For example, blow the horn fuse or dome light fuse? Does it power on and off with the parking lights?

Run a power line from the battery.

It may be drawing to much power, and blowing the fuse.....

Check to see if your wiring harness is properly connected. If it is just the dash lights, I would suspect that the dimmer wire is either wired to the wrong connector or grounded out.

Is the brown wire not a ground? Why wouldn't you want to ground to it if it is a ground?

The brown wire tests as a ground until you put your headlights on. Then it has +12 volts. If you use that wire, you'll cause the exact problem that Dabe is having. There is a black wire in the main harness that you use for the ground, or better yet, you can run one directly to the chassis.
