Question about Type R and bandpass.

I was just wondering how 1 12" alpine Type R would sound in a bandpass? I dont think that they are recommended for it, but, hey why not? I will post a pic of the box, and you guys can tell me what you think. Also if the answer is yes to that, then what about a dual bandpass? I just want something that can take some more power then what I got, Im sick of having to worry about blowing things, although it is adjusted properly.

unless the bandpass box in make to the specifications of the sub, it will probably sound like crap. Sorry...

However, a bandpass box is more effiecient than a sealed box or ported box. Since it is more effiecient, then it takes less power. With a bandpass you are probably more likely to blow a sub that with a sealed enclosure. If you want to give your sub more power, then a small sealed enclose would be your best bet, and it will prolly sound better too. Either way, good luck.

pre-made bandpass is a no no. they sound like trash, sorry. you'll be more than happy with a sealed box. if not, try ported (to the specs of the sub). just stay away from bandpass. require a lot of work to get them to sound good.

Ok, How would a JL 12" W3 sound in the box above? I currently have a 12 WO in it, and it sounds just fine.

like i said before, premade bandpass boxes are no good. granted, they may sound loud, but their response is horrible. it would sound much cleaner and have a flatter reponse curve if you go ported or sealed
