if you mount it on the underside of the box does it get enough air to it, to cool it off or does it overheat?? i'd try and put it in that little compartment off to the side it should fit if not make it fit lol...

this is my experience, but be careful about putting it in those side compartments, there tends to be some moisture buildup in there and amps and water are not good bed partners. good luck

Amp storage? This gets asked alot, but here are some ideas:
1. under the box (just beware of overheating).
2. In the spare tire compartment.
3. In the driver side compartment (White Ninja is right, the cheap cardboard comes right out).
4. Just in the trunk right behind the back seats (just don't screw it down!!!! Your gas tank is 3/4s of an inch down!! The best think is to use velcro).
5. Do what I want to do! Check out the tech articles and build it into the backseats themselves. Takes a little money and alot of time but if you want to show it off, its well worth it).

anyone ever thought about mounting it to the very back of the car? on the inside wall underneath the hatch latch and all of that good stuff? if you have a box in there you could cut the pannel *cringe* but there does seem to be alot of room behind it. i'm asking because right now mine is out because my box doesnt fit so well with it in and i was thinking about doing it. the only bad side i can see of it is it might not get air (just like being mounted under the box) and if you ever got rear ended severly enough your kinda screwed. but with a box there your screwed anyway... atleast it could be hidden

There isnt enough room behind that panel to mount an amp. I have taken it off many times to mess w/ my trunk motor, and there is no way an amp is fitting back there w/o cutting a hole in the paneling so it can stick out. there are 3 ways I would recommend....they are listed from cheapest to most expensive.
1) mount it to the top of the box...like so

2)velcro it to to the hump on the back...dont screw it, just velcro it
3) put it in your back seat, this looks extremely neat and and professional!
Whichever you choose, good luck!

update...just mounted the amp upside down on the box, superglued and placed brackets on a sweet 12v fan which is between the amp mounted upside down and the other amp mounted on the bottom...works sweet...and its stealth
ive taken about 20 pics of the whole setup..i need to wait to finish the system(my cd player comes in the 12th or 13th) that day i will do one hour photo and make a cd...i will for sure post the pics..it took some creativity, but awesome job..recommend it to anyone
