Good place for a ground

Good place for a ground

I was having trouble getting a good ground for my amp, where is the best place to hook up the ground wire on an 1985 firebird, a really need to know.

drill a hole, put in a screw, the whole body is a ground, it's not rocket science

Gee.., be nice OntoGenesis. Its easy but some concern should be taken when grounding. I'm going to assume that your amp is in the trunk, so what ever you do, don't drill into the gas tank!! Thats one big no-no. The best place I found is the metal divider between the back storage compartment and the spare tire bay. Theres a short metal wall that works perfectly fine and is usally in range of the 3 ft. cable they give you with most amps. Hope this helps out.

In my opinion the best place to put it is on the bracket where the t-top storage thing is supposed to clamp on in the back, theres 2. Just sand down the paint and screw the bolt back on , works great!:lala:

Another good place is where the rear seatbelt bolts to the frame of the car.
