Friend zapped himself, stereo doesnt work?

I dont usually post topics even though I've been here for 3 years (almost everyday) but maybe you guys can help my friend and I out. Recently he electricuted himself trying to get a dime out of the cig lighter... After his stereo doesn't work, checked all his fuses and changed a few... Do aftermarket stereos have internal fuses or anything like that? Any help you guys can give me?

Aftermarket stereos usually have a blade type fuse in the back. Normally 10amp.

that or maybe theres an inline fuse on the power wire that blew. i know my old stereo had one but my pionerr headunit doesnt have a inline fuse. so see if it has the fuse in the back of the headunit or the inline fuse.

if its in the 3rd gen i had a simular prob minus the electrical shock. my head unit did turn on but the conastant 12v was dead so it didnt save memory like any stations. i checked all the fuses but to no avail something either shorted or had a inline fuse that i couldent find. I got my volt meter out and found another constant 12v in the radio pod if i remember it was a pale pink in color and in the same bundle as the radio wires so i just used scotch connector and bypassed the old radio 12v constant.

Did you replace the accesories fuse? Thats the one that will blow if you short the cigarette lighter.

just a note... electrocution = death by electricity. shock = jolt of electricity and still alive. You scared me for a second there.
