12" Sub Box from 10"

I was wondering if I could cut the hole that my 10" were sitting in and put my 12" in it and it sound ok, right now I have a box that sits in the back of the trunk behind the gas tank in the dip. would this sound better/worse/same or what?

most likely the box will not be the right size for 12s; it'll be too small inside. not a good idea.

depending on the air space requirements of the subwoofer, it could work. just remember GET the airspace dead on, and your woofer will perform well, if its not optimal, it wont sound nearly as good.
