Dynomat in trunk
I was gonna put some sound deadening material in the trunk, but i was curious as to how to get all of the black plastic trim out? Is it snap in, or screws? Is the carpet glued or just formed? Any help would be appreciated

Kcobain,
To remove the plastic pieces, start with the spare tire cover. There are 4 plastic screws that hold it in. Once that is removed, remove the two plastic screws on the left side (if your standing behind the car) of the rear piece. Now, I'm gonna assume you have a locking cover, in that case you'll need to remove the two 10mm (I believe, pretty sure its 10) bolts that mount the stopper for the cover. Last remove the two little screws that are on either side of the trunk release. They're small and phillips head. With all that done, wiggle the rear piece out.
Now, I'm not sure what year car you have but I'm pretty sure you'll be in the same boat as me. I have a 92 RS and when I did my trunk the carpet is formed and glued down but it comes right up. Since it is formed, I found no need to glue it back down when I finished. I just made sure it stayed in the form and tucked all the edges behind the plastic panels.
Now, some advice for dynomating. My big mistake was I didn't spend enough time focusing on the very back wall. Make sure you do this! It'll take awhile because of all the trimming you'll have to do but its well worth it. Good luck and feel free to PM me if you have any problems or questions.

Stopper for cover?..not sure what your talkign about. And did you apply the dynomat to the pannels and the floor, or the metal of the body, then put the pannels back on?..I wont be doing it for a little while. Instead of finishing off the system this month, im gettin a viper alarm put in first to protect my investment. Thanks though, becuase now i'll have an understanding before i do it.

Yah, I don't understand either, and I've had all the panels in my car out many times! Do you mean a locking cover for the whole hatchback? Or did you mean the locking cover on the driver's side panel?
I put dynomat between where the panels overlap each other, to keep any vibration down. I had to cut the strips very thin.. like, 1/4 inch, so they would fit.

Ya, sorry to confuse you guys. Some of the cars had a locking cover that covered the very back recese (sp?) of the car. I'm not refering to the driver side lock box. And to answer your question, I just did the metal, but you can do the underside of the plastic panels if you want. I didn't because I want a new interior anyways.
